http://www.iapologize.com/Article-Love_AvoidingMrWrong.htm These are great things to look for!!
One thing that is not on the list is a full disclosure of health physical and mental! A visit to the Dr’s office is imperative to determine diet, other necessary information and requirements needed. This is important especially if you do not have knowledge in this area.
Regarding mental challenges this needs to be revealed before the marriage otherwise it is pure deception! There are mental challenges that carry a divorce rate 2 to 3 1/2 times higher than the general population! There are ministries that have great results for people with mental challeges www.beinhealth.com However the person must be willing to do the 1 on 1 minstry…admit the diagnosis..and walk in obedience to Gods Word. A visit to the mental health provider will reveal what to expect and be aware of. This needs to take place before any marriage commitment!
Even if the person has successful ministry…there is a lifetime of what is called “Walkout” A potential marriage partner must be given a chance for a well informed visits with the mental health counselers and the Ministry personnel who participated with the deliverance. Surely this information and procedures are followed before the marriage and certainly before premarital counseling!!
Witholding pertinent information regarding finances…debt…work ethic…previous financial irresponsibility…mental and physical health…. only create mistrust and a relationship cannot survive with deception as its base.
The article provides a great checklist! The book has alot more information. There is also a video bible study package available!!
