The language we use to describe our feelings in stressful circumstances surrounding threshold events tells us so much.
When we use words like feeling strangled, throttled, choked, squeezed and so on, we’re sensing Python – the spirit of constriction.
When we use words like retaliation, kickback, backfire or fallout, we’re sensing Leviathan – the spirit of backlash.
When we use words like feeling spread thin or withering or squandered, we’re sensing Rachab – the spirit of wasting.
And when we use words like feeling torn apart, shredded, gutted, ripped, we’re sensing the spirit of forgetting.
